This is a hidden gem of authentic Japanese in the middle of suburban VA. Try the shio or cold duck ramen and say hi to Tao.
Takoyaki is just as good as any vendor in Osaka albeit slightly larger. First okonomiyaki place I've found in VA. VERY authentic . Will come back again and again when I miss Kansai
Everything here is prepared fresh with top-quality ingredients. Vegetable tempura and miso soup !
The salmon teriyaki , either as an entree or as part of a dinner bento , is delicious!
Miso ramen is great! The only bad thing is that there is only one member of the wait staff that can explain the menu/speak English.
Go for happy hour til 7.30 .. Cheap sushi with nice quality :)

Tempura soba thin. Plain noodles in a broth with a side of tempura shrimp sweet potatoes . Not bad. Kind of plain, but I would try the ramen noodles next time

The new Harris Teeter on West Broad St is simply fabulous. The deli is absolutely great, Beverly and Sayed is extremely wonderful. I love the hot bar especially the salmon. You must try it. - Paulette Overby
