We are fishing here by the Boat Dock in Cagel recreation area . They don't have any fees,just a 5$ parking fee
The island is a great place to let the kids play during the week. Good luck getting on it on the weekend.
Lake Conroe is a great place for water skiing , fishing and lounging around in the sun. If nearby, it definitely is worth saving a trip to Galveston to dodge tar balls.
