Green-Wood Cemetery

One of the most amazing cemeteries . Fantastic history and amazing Victorian stone architecture in the mausoleums. Great place to walk around on a crisp fall day.

I went for a special night time event which was fantastic! it always happens around Halloween time so keep an eye out for tickets. it gets crowded so avoid the catacombs and check them out another day

Despite what you may think, this place has an incredible history. It also has beautiful, well maintained grounds. Their events are often worth the expense .

as one of the largest cemeteries in the city and tree covered drives. nice place to take a walk through. they also do tours for the several famous individuals buried here. worth a look

looking for basquiat 's grave ? it's in lot 44603, on the left side of the line of small markers.

You can cover a lot more area if you drive in and cruise around. Park somewhere in the center and venture out on foot.

It's beautiful. Great place to roam around, but you can't jog...apparently. I guess that makes sense

Beautiful cemetery , went for a screening at night, kinda spooky? But i think place does alot of events , so not just a place to visit the dead

Historian Jim Mackin calls it “a treasure of nature with champion trees , four ponds , the highest point in Brooklyn and a large colony of monk parakeets that live in the spires of its entrance gates.”

Look up at the gatehouse at the main entrance on 5th Ave. A colony of Quaker Parrots, exotic transplants from South America, live in giant nests atop the spires.

Pick up a free map of Green-Wood at our guard booth (inside our Gothic Arch) at 25th St/5th Ave, main office and guard booth at 34th St/4th Ave and are available at our other 2 entrances on weekends.

A must-visit for musical theater fans.Leonard Bernstein and Fred Ebb are buried here, along with many other artists , actors and musicians .

Great views of downtown - if your heading to the gowanus and redhook I would recommend popping in.

Great views of the city as you walk down toward the 25th St exit. Resident stork at the urn building was a nice surprise.

There is a restroom in the chapel close to the 25th st entrance, right by the lake . The chapel is also lovely, but may be in use for services.
