Cookbook author/baker Ken Forkish puts an American twist on French pastry classics like the Oregon croissant(he adds fresh berries to the dough ) & macarons (great taste, but texture is fair too bumpy)
Croissants and macarons , croissants and macarons . Hard to choose just one so bring friends or plan for multiple visits. Perfect day meal or for picking up a loaf or two, plus solid coffee !
Ken is one of the first of Portland's ever-growing list of local celebrity chefs . His bakery is among the best this side of the Atlantic. Monday night pizza night is a neighborhood favorite.
Chocolate croissant is one of the best in the country . Even better than cafés in NYC.
Ken's Artisan Bakery offers expertly crafted breads by the loaf, as well as sandwiches that highlight baker Ken Forkish 's products.
Delicious casual bakery - rose raspberry croissant was amazing
Ken's book taught me how to make great bread so made a pilgrimage here and wow. Just get everything and leave with a couple of loaves
The macarons are FAT and super soft with a delicate outer shell. Delicious and decadent. Also love the Oregon croissant and the walnut loaf I brought home
Best macarons I've ever had the pleasure to eat. They make them much bigger than most places so they're more than worth it.
The grilled cheese sandwich was great! Beautiful presentation for everything. Had a wonderfully rich hot chocolate as well . I recommend this place.
Best croissant I’ve found outside France. Everything else is delicious as well with lots of attention paid to detail
Get there earlyish and grab an Oregon Croissant while they're warm. It's better than a croissant should be allowed to be.
Cinnamon rolls like heaven and Stumptown cappuccino ! Plus, freshly baked bread , like a real Italian "panetteria"
Goat cheese and leek croissant . Amazeballs.
Come here for textbook chocolate chip cookies and French macarons filled with buttercream and fresh strawberries .
Incredible breads and pastries made here daily. Watching the baker do his thing from the window is cool, but to eat this stuff is what it's all about.
Ken opened what has been called the country ’s best bakery nearly a decade ago, and we’ve been taking the sacrament ever since. [Eater 38 Member] Read more
Everything here is great, except the surly staff . Maybe it's me but they never end with anything pleasant or a smile.
The ham , thyme & gruyere croissant is always a good choice for savory. On the sweet side, try one of their macaroons . I'm partial to the salted caramel-coffee.
1/2 soup , half sandwich .
The brioche rolls are fantastic and their macaroons are twice the size of pix and just as good!
The grilled cheese is crispy with some cheese on the outside. They don't serve it at breakfast , so bat your eyelashes if you have your heart set.
Rose raspberry croissant so amazing
Monday nights they serve pizza ... But head to the east side to Kens Artisan Pizza to enjoy it any day of the week!
Cute little cafe with very good baked items
Solid bakery . Oregon croissant is the winner.
Try all the things. And wash it down with some Stumptown coffee .
I would just like to eat all of the croissants . Also a side of Stumptown .
Perfection, an iced latte and a chocolate croissant on a summer afternoon.
The best baguettes outside France. AND... The "Morning Bun " is my favorite of their pastries !
They ran out of butter croissants in the afternoon. Lemon glazed croissants was a good alternative
Outdoor on-site ordering and pickup. Tried a few of the croissant variations they’re known for, but nothing stuck out. Baguette was decent
the fresh fruit macaroons are amazing, and so is vanilla latte . Very delicious !
There's a reason James Beard loves their croissant ! And Monday nights brings amazing Pizza !!!
Really interesting macaron flavors, like pear-rosemary.
Go for the raspberry rose croissant terrific!
