Nice beach for family gathering and fun in the sun, without an long commute.
I loved it very peaceful and not to many people and a lot of wildlife I'd say a total win for everyone.
Crystal River's only saltwater beach . Picnic facilities.There is boat ramp and dock accessibility. You can sunbathe , swim , build a sandcastle or try out your fishing skills on the nearby pier :)
The pin for this location is WAY OFF! Keep driving on Fort Island Trail until you get to the "gates" almost at the end of the Island on county road 44.
Get there early to get a covered picnic table !
Nice beach for small kids, water doesn't get deep for a long ways out.out
Sort of nice but next to impossible to park and explore-it's a river island/subdivision.
Beach was crowded & way too hot. Could only stay 1/2 hour. Feel like crispy critter.
