Dockweiler State Beach features a three mile long shoreline with a picnic area and concession stand. The wide beach is beneath the takeoff path from Los Angeles International Airport.
12501 Vista del Mar (at Imperial Hwy) Playa del Rey , CA 90293 United States
It's a beach with bonfire pits so that's awesome. If you like watching aircraft take off from LAX it's a great spot to see some A380s take off from.
This place is special because there are fire pits for bonfires , but you have to get there really early to claim one. If you're not there by 5pm, then cross your fingers that someone will share.
Serene. Both pathways through the sand and around and real nice for a walk, run or biking . I like that it's not crowded ...that might just be bc it's a tad chilly out though.
Apparently, this is the place to be on the weekend. Great location for photographing aircraft, if you're an aviation nerd.
Great wide beach that is perfect for social distancing during the week with tons of ample parking . And it’s got planes taking off which is cool for kids.
You'll see bunch of checks from the champions in the past like misty May trainor, Kerry Walsh and others. Good place for beach volleyball fans.
Quiet beach by LAX. Good for a quick stroll. Parking available & good cycle paths
Paid $10 to fight for parking for 30 min and ended up parking even further away than if I had just grabbed a spot on the street. Just park on the street parallel to the beach .
Great spot near the airport to watch the sunset .
Great beach . Parking is $10. Or try to find a parking spot on the street & walk down the big ass hill .
Great beach for a bonfire . And to watch the planes take off from LAX
It's so nice, there is a BBQ spot and many ppl are chilling there. Gonna visit it again for sure.
$3 parking , fire pits and it's neat to watch the planes taking off!
I chose a spot in the end of LAX runway. Really noisy , but fun to watch planes fly so low, almost rubbing your tanning belly;)
Great for bonfires but def get there early to reserve your free spit.
Get here early for a fire pit and you can also grill on this beach
Near guard 49. (3rd parking lot ) Not a lot of people in this area. More private.
Sunsets that will be carved in your heart
Good for family events and beach parties..!
Come for the water, stay for the sunset .
LAX is right by the beach . If you like the noise of planes taking off... ????
Right in the flight path from LAX. VERY noisy ! Huge jets every 5-10 minutes. Public Restrooms and showers available, but they stink so bad!!
Lots of pits for bonfires ! Path to bike/run. Street parking is pretty abundant on weekdays.
A sandcastle without a central keep is technically a sand mansion.
There is free parking on the nation road , but make sure you move your car at 10! Because they ticket.
Planes , bonfire pits, ocean. What more could you want? I, for one, love the low flying planes .
Here today with APA Elevate & Heal the Bay . Day of giving back to LA
Life is a Beach !
Beautiful Pacific Coast beach .
Great bike path ! Good for commuters.
Ally Day, The O.C. Edition has Allyson pictured on the same Lifeguard Tower as Marissa Cooper from The O.C.
Awesome place to have a bonfire with friends :D
Only beach in SoCal with fire pits . Can be dirty though
Watch out! Parking enforcement is serious about the 10pm limit on Playa Vista... $73 ticket - not worth it!
Less crowded than Venice or SM, but lot louder with the LAX noise.
Great place for plane spotting, planes take off right overhead.
Have fun & get wet
Cool spot to watch planes .
Just for fun - try to stay on on your feet, when the plane takes off :)
Party time!
$8 entry, no unlimited in & out
Warm and sweet.
Beautiful here today, but chilly...
Crowed and noisy because of the airport
Leave before 10 to avoid $68 parking tickets
One of those good stop for bike ride ;) meet u over here!
Come early and come with a group. Not recommended for date nights . People will just bug you about joining in.
Share s'mores over a bonfire .
Don't use red plastic cups here. The police will stop and check them.
Just wanted to stop for a few minutes to check out the beach ...parking attendant said, "6 dollars for 1 minute or 1 hour" really? It's a Friday morning with an empty lot. #rude #greedy

Its surrounded by industry but is only a short drive from Manhattan Beach and El Segundo. Nice for a relaxing lunch break or an evening bonfire. - Matt Gillooly
