The Fish Market Restaurant

The fish is so fresh. Skip the bambam shrimp tho. Also no on the gumbo . Chowder is descent, trout is off the hook. Grouper also fantastic. Small band of retirees plays banjo, horn and upright base.

This is my go-to place for quality, delicious food! Love the blackened fish - grouper , snapper or salmon and the oysters on a half-shell.

This place has garnered itself a historic reputation. It is centrally located downtown and features a fresh fish market and pantry section.

This is probably my favorite restaurant in Birmingham. Absolutely amazing food for some of the fairest prices I've ever seen. I love the market set up, perfect. However, they need some beer on tap !

Wonderful clam chowder ! Try the Cajun catfish or the Bam Bam Shrimp . Very friendly staff , great atmosphere. Perfect for lunch or dinner .

If you come for dinner , have a small lunch . If you come for lunch , have a small breakfast . The portions are huge!

Not complicated to figure out. Sit down area and an order at the counter area. Great food! Fair prices . Will be back.

I highly suggest the Greek salad with fish on top. Make sure to get the hush puppies .

Had the grilled seafood special. Tilapia ,shrimp and scallops . Food was fresh and cooked well . A bit too much seasoning for my taste.

Good food! Poor design. They have some kind of ceazy rulez. Order in this line ; pick up your own food. Where you can and cant sit. You need a guide!

Can't go wrong with the olatter. Fried or broiled it is delicious!

Service was great and lovely atmosphere with the live music , but the food was NOT GOOD. Crab cakes , salmon skewers , and seafood platter - all very Bland!! Truly a disappointment!!! :-/

Usually good food and pretty friendly staff . LOVE the fries pickles !!

Don't do the full service option. Self serve is faster and more relaxed. It's what makes the market so great.

Make sure you only order what you can eat because the togo boxes are tiny and getting a larger one is close to impossible

The Blackened Amberjack is where it's at!

I spent almost $50 on dinner for two. You would @THINK@ this place could do better than lunchroom silverware in a plastic bag and all the condiment bottles on the table were dirty and sticky.

The buffalo shrimp appetizer is amazing.
