Known for their pineapple cakes , old wife cakes , milk cakes , and sun cakes . Old wife cakes are my fave--they have a slightly mochi-like center and are just sweet enough to have with coffee or tea .

This is absolutely the best pineapple cakes . It is a tradition. There are other places with modern twists, but this is the classic one. You can even get a huge cardboard box wrapped for flying home.

Pineapple cakes and cranberry cakes are sooooo good here. The wife cakes are flaky and have a chewy mochi interior. They were ok. You can also mix flavors for gift boxes :) It gets busy so come early

Tried at least 5 other famous brands and Chia Te still tops on the Pineapple Cake categories. Worth grabbing Salted Egg and also Cranberry . Be there before 11am if you want to grab Tai Yang Biscuit .

Bomb ass pineapple pastry . They also have really good pastry in general. There will be a line but not moves quick. You can speed things up by paying with cash. Visa accepted.

This is the crowd daily. Egg tarts are extremely good. Pastry was very rich, buttery and flaky.

If you're buying a lot, use the order forms they hand you in the store and they'll pick up all your items for you. The milky cake is delicious

One of the best pineapple cakes in Taiwan as claimed, sometimes there will be a queue outside the store to go in. Pastry is not too sweet and they have quite a good variety. Sun cakes were yummy too.

missed the egg custards again! am told by the staff that the last batch comes out around 5p but are usually gone before 6p. do I have to skip work or leave early to get these yummy snacks ?! *sigh*

WOW is all I can say!! Pineapple pastry is really tasty! They also have a nice variety for you to choose from. Can't beat that!

Moon festival always is a big day in Chia Te, fortunately come her early enough, might be just another 30 mins....
