Park on the Trinity side of Carter Finley and go in the back entrance to the fair near the horse barns. The lines are shorter there and it's close to the fireworks which you can watch from the car.
Overall was a lot of fun, the only downside: A lot of similar food vendors which made it kinda hard to keep track where you had been. Tried Krispy Kreme Burger & Fried Cookie Dough : Awesome
Carry your kid(s) or go get someone else's child and take them to the NC State Fair . You will be amazed at the bravery of the child on certain rides. I did and I never been on a Fairies Wheel! My hero
Wow, we ate so much food at the fair yesterday. Here were just a few of our favorites: Howling Cow's Campfire Delight ice cream was phenomenal, everything at Gobblin Gourmet's, Hog Stack at Granny's.
For a place out of the sun where you can sit at a table, eat at the Cary First United Methodist Church booth . Best ham biscuits ! Proceeds to church ministries. Staff are lovely church volunteers.
Come visit the Spay/Neuter Booth (next the the Milking Booth ) in the Expo Building and purchase a tote for $1 (or make a donation) to support the NC Spay/Neuter Program!!!
Make sure to stop by the Bluebird Cupcake booth in the Scott building! Support your local businesses!

Geat Flea Market every weekend.....antiques , collectables and stuff of all descriptions rain or shine check it out.

The Wisconsin Cheese stand is delicious! But be prepared for the incredibly long line !
Incredible 15 minutes of fireworks every night. Beats most July 4th displays! A must see even if not attending the Fair .
Must haves: Turkey leg , the right roasted corn , deep fried something/everything, and an antacid
Cary Methodist Church for a country ham biscuit across from waterfall . They have inside seating. Free parking at the pnc arena.

Ride the bus there. It beats the hassle of finding a parking spot and is a lot cheaper than paying up to 20 bucks for a spot.

Come to Connie's corn ! The best corn at the fair ... Sweet white! Yellow corn is cattle feed!
The Zipper is the best ride and has a great price of 4 tickets!! Well worth it! Get your scream on!
The gun show is awsome but u gota get hear early so u don't have to wate in a long line
If you enter at gate 8, make sure you leave by 9:30 or you can't exit at gate 8 until fireworks end. They began late last night so we waited almost an hour. You can still exit via gate 9.

Westover United Methodist Church 's food is great! Reasonable prices and a nice indoor seating area!
