Definitely go here. Service was great. Food was just okay, yet nicely presented. It's all about the views . Loved the fire pit and warmers:)

Come here for the wine and views (though long wait ). The ambrosia burger is not good. Get the goat cheese and garlic spread , if anything at all.

Nepenthe has incredible views and fantastic architecture with thick wooden beams. The food is ok. Come for the Ocean, TRIPLE BERRY PIE , and a glass of wine . Seriously, have the pie !

Best burger with a view ever. Ambrosia burger with side of bean salad is filling but not heavy. Expect a wait but you won’t mind given the scenery.

Staff was helpful in making accommodations to a pasta dish and to some appetizers to make them vegan . Amazing sunset views . Great wines . Fun date night .

Nepenthe sits overlooking the Big Sur coast for the most incredible lunch view money can buy. The Ambrosia Burger is the coast's best and you won't forget your meal there. ($15-30pp)

Grab a beer and sit outside to soak in the views . The gift shop downstairs actually has great books and gifts - not your typical tourist shop

Breathtaking view and just a really funky place to hang out. The Ambrosia Burger and fries are worth the wine . Great Bloody Mary's and a fun Shop.

Nepenthe Restaurant is a must! Stunning view of Big Sur. Had a delicious caprese salad & pink lemonade . We were entertained by the stellar jays that swooped in to grab french fries :-)

The view is superb! The menu is simple but they have a great wine list .

Worth a peek-in. I can imagine great parties have been held here. Try the chili con carne soup if they have it, it's delicious.

This costal views from this restaurant are breathtaking. It's hard to imagine this place having an equal anywhere in the US. The food is very good. Burgers are excellent as well as veggie lasagna .

Fantastic view . Ambrosia burger is delicious. Also worth splitting the basket of fries which is huge! And if you're looking at appetizers , the roasted beets are packed with amazing flavors.

Amazing view of all of Big Sur. Come here to sit on the patio grab a beer or Bloody Mary and even some food, if you're feeling it.

The view is incredible. Nice margarita with fresh squeezed lime .

If in Big Sur, you must stop here. Best to arrive about an hour before sunset . Eat slowly and savor the view .

On a clear day, MAYBE the cliff side view could justify the prices and personalities at Nepenthe, but on any other (read: most) days, you have better options further down the road .

Service was great, views were awesome, food is decent. Nice local wine list. Don't be ignorant as some folks coming here you'd think never been someplace rural before

a must-do in big sur. the views are incredible. the outside tables overlooking the cliff are worth the wait. I would avoid bringing kids.

Drink some of the Gary's Vineyards or Roar wines which are come of Cali's best... and exclusive to Napenthe!

For a really warm ending to your meal, get the classic Nepenthe C&C cocktail . Not for the timid!

Ambrosia burger is rather amazing. I believe its first come, first serve on the outdoor seating with the view . Last time, saw condors which flew over our heads and landed in a tree .

View is great but the girl at the jewelry counter is a snob. Tries to pass off the jade carver as being "trained " in New Zealand but none of the designs show any similarities.

The menu is simple, but very well done and the view is superb.
