Walkway Over the Hudson State Park

This is the best thing to happen to the city of Poughkeepsie in years. Beautiful views and easy access to both sides. The best part is that The Hudson Valley Rail Trail connects for a great bike ride .

This is definitely a great spot for the annual balloon fest and I suggest get there by 5:30am as the parking lot fills quickly and swamped with hundreds of people

Great for riding your bike across. Be observant of walkers though. Also it is not only dog friendly with doggie bags & trash cans, but there's water bowls on the walkway as well

Gorgeous views ! A great place to take a leisurely stroll. Nice breeze all year round. Bring a hat with a visor. Don't come without your camera . And bring a bottle of water. I love it.

This is a great place to walk, jog, bike or rollerblade . It has beautiful scenery ! Whether I am in the mood for a 1/2 mile walk or 3 miles I can do it at the walkway.

Awesome! Love it. There is no shade so summer sunny days are hot... but with a sun hat it is beautiful. Or try early morning sunrise, that is my favorite time :-)

BRING PLENTY OF WATER for your dogs and/or try not to take dogs up on extremely hot days! Surface temp of the concrete is much worse for pups & many suffer from heat stroke! Stay alert & be careful!

Fun way to spend an afternoon. It's about 1.28 miles across each way. Great views .

If you are not from Poughkeepsie, take the Amtrak train to Poughkeepsie Stn. rest-up. Bring your bicycle to ride the bridge . There lunch options (gyros ) at the entrance but limited especially veg .

Walkway Over the Hudson is the longest elevated pedestrian bridge in the world. There's a $5 parking fee that's good for the entire vehicle, but you don't have to pay to walk across the bridge .

It's an old railroad bridge they turned into a pedestrian footbridge. It's gets cold and windy especially over the river so dress accordingly.

Cool way to experience the Hudson River . Great reuse of infrastructure.

The view is great, but it's disappointingly un-parklike. It's a big concrete walkway with 2 benches in the middle.

The view is hard to beat. The wind is constant. Ignore the bitter locals who hate this walkway.

Walking distance from the Poughkeepsie Metronorth stop. Pretty views of the Hudson River and beyond. Very easy to walk & bike .

Bring sun screen. It isn't located in the best part of town . Parking at the bridge is $5.

Use the restroom at either end because once you are up there, you're stuck. Lol!

An old bridge that was converted to a walkway/bikeway. Spectacular views of the Hudson river and surrounding areas.
