Don't be put off by the approach - a great open area where you can enjoy a lovely coffee amongst other things. Also a very handy cut-through and no bears were harmed in the writing of this tip.
Really nice to see this area improved and renovated. It's like a portal from typical city into the urban culture of Stokes Croft.
Have a stroll during the day and check out the art , the eye in the tree and even play some ping pong !
Avoid this place during the evening if you're out of town . Mostly it's safe but there are hobos and drunks around who can sometimes be aggressive.
Inside and below St James Barton Roundabout. 'Planners make spaces, people make places'. Michel de Certeau.
Wall through.take your time.enjoy the graffiti and street art !
Ursa the bear - new guardian of The Bear Pit by Jamie Gillman, unveiled by Mayor George Ferguson, May 10th, 2013.
It's a bit like a turd rolled in glitter.

The Alms houses at the top are well worth a look and the fish and chips at the bottom worth a taste. - ドーラ
