You wouldn't expect anything like that from a free of charge museum ! It's absolutely great. Plus there're some parts of the museum that can be accessed only with a guide.
Free admission ! Lots of stuffed animals and replicas on display. Signs are only in German, though. Perfect with kids on a rainy/cold day
Meet NDR-Antje
Super für Kinder bei schlechtem Wetter. Da kann man locker 2 Stunden unterwegs sein. Auch für Geburtstage gut, da es einen großen Vorraum mit Tischen gibt.
Man wird sich wieder seiner "irdischen Mitbewohner" bewusst, z.B. Hamburgs mutige Stadtkaninchen. Kostenlose Entschleunigung:eine kleine Spende f Erhalt&Ausbau hinterlässt man gern.
Echt schön und informativ. Sehr genial an heißen Tagen, weil es hier schön kühl ist. Kostenlos . Spende beim Gehen ist da selbstverständlich...
Die Uni Hamburg ist unterfinanziert, hier sieht man was das heißt... Das Museum ist trotzdem cool
Bevor man sich beim Anblick des groooßen Wal-Skeletts in die Hosen macht: Die Toiletten sind direkt gegenüber beim Gang links neben den "Barten und Zähnen" :)

A lot of interesting stuff. Maori hut, an atmospheric exhibition of masks and totems. Gigantic statues in the hall along with full-sized boat. Some expositions can be touched or used which is great! - Dmitriy Rozhkov

Kid friendly but good for adults too. Exhibits of stone age and iron age finds near the Elbe are well explained. - Paul Baker
