Bank of England

The bank was located first in Mercers’ Hall and then in Grocers’ Hall but was moved to its permanent location on Threadneedle Street in the 1730s and was the largest financial institution in England

The traffic is crazy here at the busy intersections . Watch the locals to cross the streets and use them as protection or just wait for the cross walk lights to turn green.

Apparently there's money here. Don't confuse the outside as the place to go to feed the birds, that's St Paul's.

The Grade I Listed Bank of England contains two 2nd or 3rd century patterned Roman mosaics . The mosaics are located at the foot of the main staircase in the museum .

The Old Lady of Threadneedle St has a museum for central bank lovers and history geeks....it's free and open Monday to Friday 10.00-17.00...

The Bank of England was incorporated by act of Parliament in 1694 with the immediate purpose of raising funds to allow the English government to wage war against France in the Low Countries

Great pub in front of the bank , on cornhill st. Just looj for an alley. Is the oldest pub in London.
