Established in 1977, Maria Elena owns this restaurant. She acquired her mother’s love of the kitchen, preparing new dishes using authentic ingredients prepared in a fresh new way. “Botana Carnitas” and “Pepe’s Special” are some of her creations coming from this ‘test’ kitchen.

This is one of the few places you can get REAL Mexican food . Everything on the menu is fantastic and the atmosphere is lively .
Carnitas are good most of the time. Although, its hit or miss at night because sometimes they are DRY I imagine after sitting all day because they cook the meat in the morning I was told.

Nice n relaxin atmosphere during the week but on the weekends go to the newport beach location for complimentary menudo ;)
