Best part of the Eduardo Paolazzi exhibition is on the ground floor, so spend more time here and resist the temptation to rush upstairs for the later works.
Very nice gallery and free, but exhibits mostly made me think about how digital media has democratized expression and laid bare the pretense of this kind of thing.
Went to Whitechapel tube by mistake! (10 min walk). Good exhibition currently of Government Art Collection . Ecletic mix of art chosen by Lords Mandelson and Boateng as well as Sam Cam. Artists fea

30 September: Founded in 1901, to bring art to East London, the Gallery was designed by architect Charles Harrison Townsend and, despite its expansion in recent years, remains in its original home.
A small but renowned contemporary gallery always makes me expect the next. Bookshop and cafe on the ground floor are worth a visit too.
Love this gallery . Sometimes weird and outlandish, usually free and always interesting.
Usually something interesting to see. Lovely space. Smaller free exhibitions upstairs
The cafe still remains an awesome space to meet, eat & drink tasty and hand made food...
I was really quite impressed. Good exhibitions and friendly staff . Open late on Thursdays.
Amazing gallery for authentic contemporary art , open until 9pm on Thursday night
Neat view from upstairs; free fashion shows.

Great exhibitions , varied and always interesting
I needed to quickly recharge my cellphone to go back to home and they did not allow! Stingy!
Loving Walid Raad. Bring your coat, it's 13.6C° in gallery 8. And don't forget to chat with the gallery assistants, they need attention!
The recent exhibition by Heilmann is a massive treat.
The wankiest art gallery I have ever visited. Unless you have a finely honed appreciation of wank it's a bit of a miss. Lots of hipsters standing around making inane comments.
Only one good exhibit there today. Very small and i would'nt make the effort especially to visit
Get the caramelised onion tart at the gallery cafe . Best in town .
F*ART at Eduardo Paolozzi exhibition
Best gallery bookshop in London.
Pretty sparse collection but good nonetheless
Try out Janet Cardiff's audio tour that takes you from the gallery to Liverpool station
Another favorite for modern art in East London
Very contemporary art exposed here.
Alice neel exhibition - a collector of souls. Beautiful, dark symbolic portraits from a well connected but disturbed soul.
Top gallery that changes a lot.
we stumbled in here but was good surprise
Free fashion shows with free food, occasionally.

Remember, go to Aldgate East Tube, not Whitechapel.
Where three dreams cross exhibition .
Disastrous. Exhibitions are usually stupid, the kind of modern art people usually despise
Tiny portions, don't come here for lunch. Nice coffee and cakes. - Ollie Glass
Great David Shrigley show. Such a fantastic space for a playful, humorous artist. Jeremy Deller not as grabbing but good to see bikes in the exhibition. - Alex C
The Q to get in for Yayoi Kusama exhibition was insanely long, even by going there just right after opening time at 10am. Exhibition was indeed amazing, and I also loved the outside garden - Margherita B.
