The Wick at Both Ends

A proper pub/restaurant. Excellent beer at a good price, and staff who actually act like they want to be at work and want to help you have a great time. Priceless, to be honest. Amazing food to boot.

They do absinthe properly (water and fountain ) but the selection is fairly bad. Ask to see the bottles and go for the one that looks closest to a natural (leaf) green colour - nemesinthe when I went.

Ignore anyone who says this place is too loud . This place gets the balance just right between weekend lash and post work drinks. Not enough nice things to say about this place

8 dishes for £22 with 26 to choose from, try the home made fish fingers .

Nice atmosphere and deceit drinking light. Nice and dim-ish.

Try the pigeon. A bit fiddly but worth it forth flavour.

The Apple pie cocktail actually tastes like Apple pie !

Great cocktails , great American ales and great staff

Don't bother if you want to have a conversation with your friends. The policy seems to be turn the volume up to drown out the natural buzz of people having a good time.

If they try to give you advice on Absinthe , ignore it - they might serve it correctly but actually know nothing about what is good.
