One of my favorite restaurants in Berkeley. Great old fashioned Jewish deli sandwiches like Reubens and patty melts . They even have tongue on rye if you're into that kinda thing. Free pickles too!
High ceilings and red-leather booths add to the friendly , retro atmosphere of Saul's deli , a Berkeley institution that is well known for its homemade sodas and enormous sandwiches . Read more
Try the Stuffed Cabbage Rolls - Cabbage stuffed with ground beef , carrots & spices. Served w/ veggies & mashed potatoes (via @Foodspotting)
I love the sandwich here. Must have corned beef sandwich and pickles . Next is metzo ball soup .
Love Saul's restaurant ! Lovely selection of Israeli influenced dishes. The chicken schnitzel is so good! It's not your typical German style - instead it's breading has middle eastern spices in it!
We love the sabich platter, malawach Yemeni pancake , and mushroom Reuben (availabile on mariposa gluten-free bread )
Great Jewish deli eats. Usually stuff my face with latkes , pickles , pastrami and more pickles . Busy at weekends for brunch , but we'll worth a visit.
The bagels are so good here! Really nice spot for breakfast/brunch or lunch . Love the matzo ball soup , the pickles , and the blintzes. Be prepared to wait on the weekend.
The Kippers & eggs with a bagel was a delicious breakfast . Excellent , friendly service at this popular neighborhood spot
Love this place! Very good Jewish food???????????? parking is hard but will still go there!
Considering that Saul's exists on the West Coast -- a coast that just doesn't understand real deli , Saul's latkes , pastrami , and matzo balls are excellent.
Free pickle plate appetizer is a winner although full and half sour don't hold a candle to the dill . Don't miss the homemade sodas !
Try the Pastrami Sandwich - I know...I'm predictable. But Pastrami is one of those "quest" foods. I'm always looking for the best ever! This was great!
Try the Morning Salad - Poached egg , diced pastrami on a bed of mixed greens. It's a nice low carb alternative to the Deli Hash .
Try the malawach , or Yemeni pancake . The chef covers this glossy, flaky pastry round with a thick tomato sauce and flecks of fresh mint : Read more
The best pastrami I've ever had. Good beers on tap , too.
The knishes are great. The food and atmosphere may enable you to feel like you're in a New York deli .
The sandwich specials (especially nos. 1 and 3) are a nice addition to the lunch menu . Always good. Always high quality! Been a Saul's fan since they opened in the 1980s!
Salami and eggs are back in action! Be sure to swap in a bagel & cream cheese instead of toast , too!
Do yourself a favor and order their cheesecake ; it is heavenly!!!!
The absolute best corned beef and pastrami sandwiches around!
Hummus with mushrooms and onions . Eggs Benedict with spinach .
Pastrami Reuben , pastrami sandwich , pickles , an chocolate pudding are all AMAZING.
My favorite Brunch place in Berkeley ❤
Have breakfast at Saul's and then go to Berkeley Hort! Food and plants, what a great way to spend a sat and sun!
Try the chopped liver - This wasn't "chopped liver " but it was Chopped Liver...and look, someone is hungry!
Can't believe I'm saying this but I like the food here better than any deli in NYC.
The best Jewish food in Berkeley. Hands-down
Great bagels , latkes , shakshuka ! Delicious!
The half order of the deli hash is a very small amount of food. But! There only bagel tops, no bottoms
Boiled salt bagels are so hard to find on the West coast, but Saul's has got you covered.
The Reuben with pastrami is amazing. Order it!
Chicken in a Pot - good for when you have a cold and good when don't
Try the Latkes - These are the biggest latkes I've ever seen. Delicious.
Really great pickles ????
Great place for informal meetings - sit at the back for privacy
house made strawberry soda is fantastic!
Sandwiches , portion size is small for deli food but it is good quality.
I had cobbish salad , it was delicious
SaulsPublicWifi password is pastramionwifi
Try the Potato Knish - Really good, especially with Horseradish .
Portions are gigantic, pickles are fantastic
Try the Hamentashen - This one had poppyseed filling. A little dry, but the flavor was good.
Order the Pastrami Ruski , latkes , and a beer on tap
Ask for pi-ckles!
Their catering platters are great for parties, with a generous spread of corned beef , pastrami and turkey !
Be nice to the staff and they will definitely appreciate you. We always get excellent service!!!
The potato salad comes out of a can. They just add bell peppers and pickles to it.
Try the Chocolate Rugelach - One of my favorites.
Really yummy latkes
Know for their chicken, but try the superlative pork. These are the pork chops you remember from when you where a child...before they bred all the taste out of 'the other white meat'. Fantastic! - Michael Quinn
The fried cod burger, veggie cheeseburger (with avocado!), and tuna salad sandwiches are all great! And the onion rings and fries too. Smoothies are a little mediocre and taste like they come from mix - Kimberly Carle
Ask for a medium soy latte, get a medium soy cappuccino. Every. Single. Time. - alexis milana
great neighborhood bookstore! good lineup of local events usually.. - Pamela Rouse
Very high quality macarons. Their cakes are also very good. When you get it to go, they wrap cakes in a box with ribbons. - Alice Oh
