日比谷公園 が造営される以前は、江戸城 の濠の一画であったものを池 として築園したものであるとの由。鳥瞰すると『心』の形に見え、禅宗の影響を受けた鎌倉・室町時代の庭に見られる日本庭園 の伝統的な手法のひとつであるとの由。
日比谷濠を埋め立てたあとあり、趣きが、曲折しているのが、心模様を表しています!
