Openbare Bibliotheek Amsterdam

Recommended to me by a friend living in the city , a great view in the city from the roof terrace , a very well designed huge library and if you're lucky someone awesome will be playing piano !

One of my favourite buildings in Amsterdam. Has personal and group study spaces and lots of lots of media. if you're hungry there's a cafe upstairs with a beautiful terrace .

Beautiful building with lots of space and places to read one of their books or use your computer. Wifi is not free (1€ 30min), unless you are a library club member. Check the views from 7th floor !

Wonderful place to visit. Spacious interior , loads of places to sit, hang, chill & read, beautiful view of the city on top floor terrace and an amazing kids section in the basement . Excellent library !

There is an interesting LGBT+ collection on the third floor and a great inexpensive cafe on the sixth - in addition to all the other handy stuff like study space and toilets .

If you want to work here with both books and free wi-fi, go to the 6th floor and take a seat near the stairs. There's a good signal from the cafe upstairs!

A very innovative historical collective library in Amsterdam . The architectural interior design is wow! There's even a radio station . Am impressed to the intellectual outlook of Deutsche ppl. Love it.

Top floor - La Place cafe (huge variety of market inspired cooking stations, very reasonable prices...Pizza , wok, salad , etc... ) All with a first class view of the city skyline.... Over lunch

Beautiful library ! Be sure to make it up to the top floor for a beautiful view of Amsterdam. There's an excellent café up there too with surprisingly tasty food.

7 floors of unique experience, with great exhibitions . The view is very nice too. Can I just say, if all libraries were this cool, the whole world would love to study ?!

Great views from the 7th floor , where there's also a buffet bar (a La Place Express). Lots of places to sit with your PC or read a book (wifi is not free, tough, 1€ per 30 min)

Apart from the great collection of books the library in Amsterdam presents a very modern design and a delicious terrace on the 7th floor . Definitively one of the best views in the city .

Brilliant location to study . Upstairs on the 7th floor is the perfect place to eat,have a coffee and have meetings if needed. Tip: wanna eat cheap ,just have the fries :half French/half potatoe wedges

Very swanky library , great place to chill out . Checkout the lounge chair desks by the window. If you're hungry there is a cafeteria upstairs, the food sucks, but the view is worth the trip

Nice place for work or education . On floors from 0 to 6 you can find places with power supply. WiFi is free, but you need to register via phone number and sms.

Go to the children's section (Floor 0) and find the huge installation with Mice House. It's worth the whole visit

A public library that doesn't feel like a library . Go to the 1st floor in the multimedia section, look for classic movies and enjoy your time.

On 6th floor there's a roof terrace . One of the best views in town !

If you like playing the piano , but haven't practiced enough to play on the piano in the main hall on the first floor: there's a silent piano ( ment for practicing) on the fourth floor! members only!

a lifehack for non-members: you can use the wifi from the cafe on 7th floor for free. the reception is quite good on the 6th

5th floor, black armchair with table-top attached, huge window, overlooking Nemo and Woedy's Tricky Theater . Ideal spot for reading/studying

Each floor has a different study feel, so take the escalator up to see each one, and skip the elevators .

Experienced piano players are welcomed to play the piano on the left right thru the entrance (for max. 30 mins)
