Best rotisserie chicken lunch in NYC: 1/4 (white or dark meat) chicken w/ avocado tomato salad , a soda , & side (rice & beans, tostones , or fries ). Ask 4 green sauce !
Parihuela was astounding and more then ample. Palta Relleno was exquisito. Fried yuca is crispy , hot and the house sauce is smooth, delicious and bien picante . Recommended. Just not cheap .
Start with a sangria , the matador combo is enough food for two for two or three meals, and the desserts are great, especially Tres Leches cake
Acoustics are terrible. It's really loud but service is solid and food is tasty. Portions are large so be sure to share and eat family style so you can try more than one dish.
Get the madator combo. It’s more than enough for two people. You will have leftovers! Get their sangria too!
The take out part of the restaurant across the street is great, they tell you am hour for your order to be delivered but they always arrive within 30 minutes. They're great.
Shrimp and Rice soup was extremely hearty and filling. The Matador combo is a local favorite and a must. Definitely enough for 2 people.
Matador Combo was good and large portion for about 3 people. The garlic and green sauce were delicious. Tostones were overcooked for our liking.
matador combo for two! and the sangria here is amazing. and strong.
Sangria and mojito were good, but what I really enjoyed was the their version of an amaretto sour with passion fruit juice . It was delicious!
If you love Peruvian food you can’t miss Long Island’s Peruvian Cuisine Expo to be held at the parking lot#4, north of the Freeport train station on September 30th from 11am-6pm!
Great chicken , saffron rice , beans, chicken empanadas , maduros and awesome green hot sauce !
Rotisserie Chicken and Chaufa rice are very good. Some of the best green sauce around.
The best red sangria in the city !
Matador combo is great value and a ton of food! Everything here is delicious.
In the mood for a great sangria ? Go here. Great food, good atmosphere (although a little loud ), but most definatley, the best sangria .
Revamp of the original Pio Pio -- humongous space that still manages to be cozy . Matador combo all the way!
Always give good quantity of food. Waitstaff is always friendly . The place gets really noisy , they need some sound absorption.
The entrée with Shrimp and Avocado was amazing. Palca something it was called.
The best chicken in NYC. Sangria is great!! My favorite chicken place in the big apple .
The filet minion was delicious. A "secret" item on the menu!
Matador combo only $1 cheaper than ordering them separately, so no need for the combo!!!
One of the best chicken rotisserie in NYC. Try the Matador.
The chicken recipe and sangria have changed for the worse. Ditch the chicken and get everything else, especially the Jalea .
It is loud and crowded but service is good and food is delicious!
Make sure to get the fries and hotdog mix. It's called "salchi-papa" tastes great with the chicken ! Also drink the sangria they make it exceptionally well !
Known for their chicken and seafood , but the filet mignon is great!
Sangria is the best.
Food is great. A bit overpriced. Service is OK. But beware because if you don't leave the suggested tip the waiters will let you know and they'll force you to leave the 18%.
Go for the cerviche , pisco sour and chicken :)
The tres leches dessert is amazing
Be sure to make a reservation if you can, the place gets really packed.
peruvian spot. good chicken . even the salad is good. happy there's one in the BX too.
FYI, ignore the tips about only AMEX and cash cause they take all cards now.
Uh. The chicken duh! Also the ceviche and get the green sauce it is liquid crack!
Very good food and service
Come here if you don't want to hear the bday song every 5 mins from the dine in location across the street.
Try the Papas a la Huancaina - Really delicious!
The chicken 's the reason to be here. Live music is loud but lively . Sangria 's not worth the price.
Try the arroz con mariscos so good!
Yes for months was grade B now it's grade Pending ? I was here on Thursday the service was hirrible, the food was NOT FRESH believe me I was customer of Pio Pio once or twice a week. Sorry but NO MORE
The most moist chicken I've had in a while.
Sangria is excellente. So is the Jalea .
And the Celebration continues 🎈🎈🎂🎂
Awesome chicken , avocado salad , and salchi papa, but beware the size of the Sangria pitcher has gotten smaller!
Get a pitcher of sangria...or two
The chicken only!
If you're staying in, the rice portion is insanely small. 1 per person. the to-go rice order is extremely generous.
Matador is great.. But please watch the tostones are hard as hell.... :/ you can lose a tooth
The sangria and chicken are one of the best that I have had.
Food is great..You can't go wrong. But I love the grilled octopus. The stuffed potato is delicious. If it's cold out, definitely get the soups. My favorites are the chupe de camaron and parihuela. - vanessa lopez
Ceviche is pretty good. Go for breakfast on weekends. So good!! Chicharrones are delicious! And then some mazamorra morada for dessert. One of the best I've had. - Carlas Beeznis
Freshly cooked empanadas, they are not just sitting out all day. Just be prepared to wait a bit for them to cook. Tons of flavors, mostly savory, corn and flower. I like the Hawaiian! - Ariel Herman
