Awesome place to go hiking . I recommend taking a docent lead tour to learn more about the park and even how current conditions are in the park .
Nice segregated ped/bike path from the visitor center to the old dam . Follows the SD River for the most part. Notably cooler in the 'gorge' on warm days. Prettiest in spring with the flowers & grass.
About 5 mile trail . It's an amazing view . You can see all the way downtown, the ocean, and a lot more.

Don't park immediately. Drive 1.5 mi. to find the Old Mission Dam - that's where the real hiking trail begins...
