They have several outlets in Singapore (note: they’re not affiliated with the one in Bangkok, which isn’t any good anymore!), and AMK is still the best! Besides the staple, their pig trotter is great!
They have 2 other branches: Jurong East (@ BGAIN 130 Eating House, beside Jurong CPF bldg) & Upper Serangoon Shopping Centre #04-26 (air-conditioned cafe-style which also serves as central kitchen)
Thai style Wanton Mee , around AMK area, long queue (peak hour) & it's self-service. I ordered a Big Bowl for $4-5, have 3 Big Fat Wantons , with Q Q Noodles , 2 Soup Wantons , and Self-Help Pork Lard 👍
"+ noodles " not enough for you? You can have it "+ extra noodles + extra noodles " (a.k.a. Jumbo Bowl) !
The queue on a weekday lunchtime is equally long.15-people deep @ 12noon. Took abt 15mins to get to the front. It didn't help that someone 'da-bao' 23(!) servings :-P
They hv 4 serving sizes: S, M, L & Jumbo . S is standard $3.50 bowl (+$1.50 if u want more ingredients). M comes w more noodles . L comes w more noodles & ingredients, plus Chinese sausages . Jumbo ...
Go during off-peak hours to save yourself from q-ing. Went there around 1pm+ & we queued for 20 mins. Small portion though, so people with big appetite need 2 bowls the minimum?
For $3.50 this is pretty decent. Pork lard is free flow, help yourselves to it at the counter. This is nowhere close to the taste of Thai Wanton Mee though.
Chinese sausage is da bomb. Along with the lard and wantons . The wait from queue to eat was about 40 mins on Saturday lunchtime
My folks tried for lunch when the zicha stall closed tat afternoon. They felt that e noodles are toooo dry. Prob will keep to the zicha.
An order of fried wantans costs $3.50 & comes with 7 pieces = 50-cents per piece
Very nice and chewy noodles . The accompanying charsiew and wantons are nice too. However i feel that the taste of the sauce is abit bland.
Something new for me to try. Taste suit for local here. Service is good n nice.
Try the $5 wanton noodle with thai lup cheong! Super yummy!!
Regular bowl
Operating hours: 7am to 3.30pm. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
This and the dimsum stall has the craziest queues on weekends.
Doesn't have the Bangkok taste. Not too bad for a local wanton mee . While waiting, have some dim sum from the next stall .
Thai Style Wanton Mee .. Good stuff! $3.50 per serving.
Queue wasn't as awful as some of the other tips left by earlier customers. What I can't understand was that the food was lukewarm, even though the kitchen was rushing to get the orders out.
Pretty ok noodles but won't wanna queue again... Hope they figure out a way to improve operations and speed things up.
Long queue during lunch time, waited for half hour. Taste not bad...
LONG QUEUE!
It sucked. Nth compared to the one @ Bangkok. Meh.
