I wouldn't bother, just get the metro to Manchester or Bury. There are hardly any shops any more, not worth the price of parking £1.80 for 1 or more hours! Then the price continues to rise.
Shopping on different levels
Don't bother with Costa Coffee - go to the one over at the ICC for better service & nicer atmosphere.
A few stores have now closed, including HMV.

Forget about food in the centre. There is a place called The Avenue which is really nice. One of the side roads to the south of the market runs to it, with the little brass statues. It's underground! - Simon Whight
