This place is *really* great and an example of how well the gay scene in Manchester has evolved. Great choice of ales .
Very welcome whatever your persuasion. Great real ale .
Okay this place is magic. Amazing staff , massive vegan cakes , vegan aioli with your angry potatoes .. 🌱🌱🌱 LOVE
a real pub with excellent cask ales in a most relaxed n interesting part of the city
The duck buns and duck wrap ... food served until 10pm #Manchester #Bars
try Beartown cask ales : Black Bear (5%), Kodiak Gold (4%) & Ginger Bear (4%). There's also Weston 's Scrumpy (6%) and Deuchars' Caledonian IPA , or for the non-cask clientéle, Strongbow & Kronenbourg!
Great real ales and a great place for grown ups on Canal Street. This is one of our favourites. Lovely friendly staff too.
The Evening Tapas offer (3 *REALLY GOOD* Tapas & a bottle of wine ) is a great deal and available from 5pm.
Amazing place! Well kept ales , great atmosphere. Without being over-the-top!
Best pub in the village by a mile but that's not saying much to be honest!
the Scrumpy has been upgraded to Weston 's Old Rosie Cloud Scrumpy (a.b.v. 7.3%!) but same price as the previous 6%-strength scrumpy. Weston 's Premium Cider Ice (slush puppies for grownups) next!
the Fathomless Oyster stout (abv 5%) is just foul. Nice venue with loud mixed crowd... drink something bottled!
Beartown 's Black Bear is a very palpable brown ale with a soft, rounded body that leaves very little after taste. Don't drink it too fast, A.B.V. 5% means it's export strength! £3.30
Not sure what real ale or cider to have? Ask the staff who are more than willing to suggest something. Super bar .
Best Bar in the gay village
Visit The Molly House for amazing tapas , cocktails and real ale in the sun.
Beartown 's Ginger Bear is a regular strength (a.b.v. 4%) soft, clear cask ale with a touch of Ginger . It's not a Ginger ale , far from it, rather a ginger-flavoured light ale , not at all bitter. £3.30
Had a Beartowns Black Bear and it certainly did leave a taste in my mouth - perfect!! ;-P
Play it safe, ditch you comfort zone and order something you wouldn't.
Best gay bar in Manchester. By far.
Cider is fantastic 8.4% proof .at £4.70 a bottle its pricey but boy does it get you wasted
Beer is fine here. Difference between bad beer and not liking beer !!!

Servicio rápido. Tapas y comida inglesa en pleno barrio gay de Manchester
Great quality home made pub grub at a very reasonable price. Also, Oz has special food nights on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Book early as they sell out quickly. - Rick Ogden
Beer garden overlooking the canal is great. Food isn't bad either! - Andrew Manwaring
Ginger is awful, but most of the rest of the beer is really nice. The staff are excellent and really friendly and some of the beer is brilliant. - Philip Morgan
Great for food in the daytime! Love the reclaimed monastery decor too! - TR Wolf
£4.05 for a single G&T is steep (and I've lived in London a few years!!) - nights with drink offers are best! :) - Gari Wellingham
