Whether it's behind the wheel of a car, in a video installation of falling letters or learning how to grow a garden , this museum offers interactive exhibits for the young tinkerer, artist and more.
Can't say enough awesome things about this museum . Went with 4-year-old and barely made it off the first floor in 4 hours. People there are so friendly , so many interesting things to do.
Parking/tickets are a bit pricey , water floor fun. Bring change of clothes for kids, they will get soaked. May want to bring water shoes , floor is a little slick, drain holes can hurt little toes.
Kids had a blast, plenty for them to do. I enjoyed seeing the Mr Roger 's puppets. Parking was tight but we got a spot.
An enormous, airy, awesome place where your kids can run free exploring for hours, and you can be equally stimulated by the smart exhibits . Don’t miss: The replica of Mister Roger’s Neighborhood !
Did you know? The museum building first opened in 1897 as the main post office for the city of Allegheny; which was annexed by Pittsburgh in 1907 and is now known as Pittsburgh's North Side. Read more
Great space to host an event such as a wedding! The staff are super great and top of everything
This place is awesome! If you can still catch the Daniel Tiger exhibit you will be in luck!
There is an equivalent to this museum in Toronto, Ontario, Canada which is the Ontario Science Center. This museum is less crowded though.
Unreal. Best one I've seen. I'm from Buffalo and we need to really step our game up.
Get a reciprocal membership! Gets you admission to this and other participating kids' museums around the country (there's a LOT) for a year.
Amazing space for families and kids to learn, experiment and grow.
If you park in lot with big fish above it they will valley pal cars behind you so you'll be suck shifting for one of the rude valet attendants to move cars around
Great hands on and interactive activities for students!!
This museum was inspired by the television show “Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood .” Ride the life-size replica of his trolley and open the alphabet doors to discover surprises.
Good family fun and a GREAT place to learn and explore for children.
There is so much to do! My son had a tough time focusing on one thing.
Be sure to ask about their Veterans' Discount ! FREE admission for any Armed Forces Veteran with proof of service.
One of the best children museum I've visited
The Pittsburgh Children's Museum was founded in 1983 by the Junior League of Pittsburgh.
A little pricey for a one-off visit for out-of-towners ($11/adult, $10/kiddo), but at $99 for a family membership for a year? Definitely worth the price.
Great for kids of ALL ages!
Definitely make sure to check out the replica of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood !
The art room is great for kids . They can spend hours in there!
Kid museum . Kids fun. Water
Broken limb climb.
Many hands on stuff for all the if my kids.
Fun Christmas Party!
Another good idea (if its warm enough) is to bring swimwear for kids in water area. And a towel.
Always bring a full change of clothes and your kid's own poolside sandals. Water just ends everything.
Try the gelato in the cafe !
The veggie burger was awesome ! Great selection of food for a little museum cafe. And the best part is you don't need to pay admission to eat there. ;) - Margaret Bussa
Great place to have special occasions as well as learn about the military history of PIttsburgh - Arlene Murphy
Have fun at all times - Michael s
This place is awesome! Great design and the four concepts each offer something special. The buffalo cauliflower from Provision is insanely good, and the poutine from Supper, I’d turn Canadian for - Graham Kukucka
Make sure you try something from the craft beer stand. They are all delicious and there's a good variety to try. - Kevin Vincent
Looked up this place on Google and almost didn't visit because of negative reviews. I'm glad we did though! This place is great. There are a ton of birds to see and interesting demonstrations. - Kristin Weis
