【国 指定名勝】玄宮園は、隣接する楽々園とともに、江戸時代には「槻（けやき ）御殿」と呼ばれた彦根藩の下屋敷。槻御殿は、延宝5年(1677)、4代藩主井伊直興により造営が始まり、同7年に完成したと伝えられる。現在は、槻御殿の庭園 部分を玄宮園、建物部分を楽々園と称している。
