If you're here for brunch , be warned that the croaker is aptly named. Brave men and women have eaten their way through it, but none have successfully sidestepped the food coma that is sure to follow.
Great atmosphere, buzzy, loud and fun. Wed special of Fried Chicken and Waffles $21 was huge and tasty. The salmon was cooked to perfection. Huge range of $7 sundaes so save room.
Fun and hip spot to dine on Moroccan Meatballs , Bar Steak or any of their daily specials . We hear the brunch is not to be missed too. And we love the waiters here.
Everything is delicious that I've had here. Plenty of space, lots of action, nice bathrooms , it's like having a suburban nicety smashed into NYC but with the best food.
Can't stress enough the amazing service and hospitality here. Had the fries , eggplant rings, and great desserts to die for (sundae and huge chocolate chip cookies ). Great place for cocktails as well !
Their potato waffle creation is unbelievable. Get mac & cheese for the table! Also, a very nice touch: the milk that comes with your coffee is warmed & frothed.
Classic and definitely a favorite for a big group of people or a small one. Not cheap but totally worth it for a really good, fun, dinner . I don't eat string beans but their fried ones are to DIE for.
The Smith has a little bit of everything. You can get Swedish meatballs and lamb Milanese one night, then come back for ahi tuna salad and vegetable bibimbap the next. Read more
The whole experience was amazing: food, drinks and especially attentiveness of our waitress Jessica who was incredible! Knowledgeable , attentive (just when we needed), very passionate and positive! A+
The Smith serves up a variety of Bennys with a twist throughout their handful of locations in Manhattan. We loved the classic, prime rib , and fried country steak varieties.
Neighborhood gem with awesome atmosphere and good food. Usually crowded during weekends and dinner . Best to come for lunch and get a Cesar salad or squid ink pasta . delicious but a bit greasy
The lamb schnitzel sings with flavor, and you get two massive slabs poised on a potato salad zapped with French grebiche sauce, laced with mustard and capers . Read more
The food is delicious! We got the prime burger and the tomato soup and both were wonderful! Nice spot on the LES! ????????
Their cocktails are great! This place is versatile, good for any occasion - brunch , bar snacks and drinks, date, group dinner , it can handle it. Good food, good service .
If only I could try everything! The steak n eggs , apple champagne , iced coffee , and candied bacon left me wanting so much more!
Any of the salad choices is superb, especially the so-called knife and fork Caesar salad , which has a transportingly good vinaigrette , and huge, cheese-embedded croutons . Read more
From the cocktails to the beer to the food and the atmosphere everything is perfect for my taste the bar tender mariah is great.
It's all about the cheese here. Start w/ Hot Blue Cheese Potato Chips (as decadent & fabulous as they sound!) & end with Mac & Cheese (one of the greatest renditions of this classic dish ever made).
Amazing brunch . Go for the short rib Benedict special along with a Bloody Mary !
Egg dishes are great, but the boiled spinach side dish is on the salty side. Afterward visit downstairs and to enjoy the photobooth and the hole in the wall playing black and white smut movies .
Oysters , Mac & Cheese and Kale salad are all incredible! I've never had anything I don't like here. Don't forget to hop down to the photo booth before you leave!
Cool atmosphere and tasty food. Wildly inaccurate cooking of my steak , asked MedRare, came out MedWell . Redo steak was Rare. But very nice staff and all dishes still enjoyable.
Highly recommend this place - one of the best restaurants I've eaten at. Really great atmosphere and the food is delicious (we had mussels and the steak ).
Everything is delicious! The Smith Ale by Sixpoint is on point. Get a side of jalapeño cheddar grits to complement any dish.
Order an Allagash White at the bar . The Mac & Cheese appetizer really is that good; comes crusted in a cast iron pan. I wish they gave you chips with the tuna tartare but it's still delicious.
The meatball parm appetizer and the short ribs are amazing here! The short rib especially - and it comes with a rice/risotto.
The jalapeño grits and cornbread eggs Benedict . I loved it overall but the dishes were both a little too sweet, yummy eggs
Go downstairs. Try the photo booth . Sit in the barbers chair. Find the secret peephole.
Enjoy a complimentary brunch cocktail with any breakfast entree on Sundays. If you're getting breakfast , get the Biscuits + Gravy . They'll change your life.
Awesome Sunday brunch spot - definitely order the donuts with fudge sauce to share! Make a reservation for the afternoon, since there's no alcohol served before 12pm.
The food here is consistently great. However, I recently ordered a Moscow Mule and it was subpar. No copper mug, and watered down. Don't let this one blemish deter you though. One of my fav places.
Cool, relaxed atmosphere - perfect for brunch . The crown jewel is the cheddar biscuit - not to be missed. The bar is also a great meeting spot for a pre/post- dinner drink. —Landon
Much like the other Smith locations around town it's great for brunch . Good cocktails and poached egg dishes
Oh man the Benedict Johnny was so delicious. Drinks can be expensive but once in a while it's fine ????
Cannot go wrong with homemade chips and blue cheese as app. Any entree with shrimp is to die for (especially grits ). Fav. date night place.
The place has amazing outdoor seating . The interior is reminiscent of French. The dishes are light, soups are filling. The service is professional. Definitely enjoyed the experience.
Great burger , Gnocchi , Kale Salad , Burrata , Chicken Pot Pie , Bibbity-Bop :). Everything is great.
Biscuits and Gravy or Potato Waffles . Such a steal for the price, you'll be more than full! Oh it's pretty trendy in here. So there's that.
One of my top brunch spots . A strong eggs Benedict , good coffee and fun atmosphere . Open table a reservation if it's after 11am on a weekend.
The food is delicious! We got the prime burger and the tomato soup and both were wonderful! Nice spot on the LES!
get the brussels sprouts . and ricotta gnocchi with white truffle oil . they're like crack. just better. trust. (on the real, though, the ricotta gnocchi is ah-mazing. best gnocchi in my life).
Don't forget to check out the daily specials . The fried chicken and potato waffles on Wednesday is a huge winner. The lamb chops too.
Had a great brunch . French toast excellent. Fellow diners had excellent salads . Bottomless sparking water offered too. Would definitely go back.
I needed to book Sunday brunch for 6 people at last minute and it was no problem here. It's a big space . Food is tasty and portions are huge.
Def get the bar chips ! The grilled shrimp and grits is totally amazing! I can't wait to go back!
Great brunch spot . Skip the wait and sit at the bar . Make sure you have a dirty jane. By far the best cocktail I have ever had.
So delicious. Took some friends who were visiting here and they loved it. Great steak , good service , fun vintage photo booth downstairs .
The grilled lamb chops with Indian spices and garnishes is really, really good. Like, I-didn't-know-The-Smith-could-make-such-delicious-food good.
The cheddar chive biscuits are to die for. But the pancakes with salted caramel sauce are a whole class of their own. Highly highly recommend!
Went looking around the East Village for a good burger . Despite many other places dedicated to them, The Smith has a darn good one - hefty and savory with a strong bun to keep it all in check. Will
Always amazing service. Great grilled chicken salad. Artichokes grilled mmm - Hope Cohen
Niman Special hot dog with fries... Very tasty! Chocolate chip milk shake also very nice. - Tim Beattie
Classic restaurant with dark woods and taxidermy lodge vibes. They have a great cocktail program with modern American fare. They offer private dining options and have a 2nd floor bar, Banzarbar. - Kidhack
One of the most amazing places I have been in N.Y.Full of history, incredible ambient and music. - Miss A
