Awesome place for family gatherings , walks with friends or a picnic with your SO! It hasn't been crowded any of the times I went and the views are gorgeous !! Hidden gem in MD !
The welcome center has toys , books , paper for coloring, drawing, educational boards, trails around the lake , you can fish for sun fish , big mouth , catfish . They have playgrounds and picnic areas
With a huge lake , lots of playgrounds , hiking trails for people and horses, cooking pavilions and dog parks , there is something for everyone. Just 30 minutes from DC up 270 it's just awesome.
Bring trashbags, you need to take your trash with you. The lake has lots of activities. Beautiful areas and lots of space to picnic . Reserve shelters for large groups.
Great playgrounds for kids; if you continue past the big one there is a small one nestled near the woods with really innovative equipment!
Book shelters for gatherings and parties way ahead of time.
