With an old school glass deli case, wood paneled walls and a couple of tables, the store offers cheeses , cold cuts and prepared sandwiches in a casual , unremodeled room.
Cheese ‘n Stuff has been owned by a few different people over the years, but has belonged to two generations of the Zawatski family since 1972.
The sign was restored to original lighting condition in 2015 by Leonard’s son Dane Christensen, who followed in his Dad’s footsteps and now owns the Christy Sign Company.
They are closed weekends, so if you are in Phoenix on a weekday, definitely check this place out.
The store was opened in 1949 by Robert Allen, who had this neon globe installed the same year, built by sign maker Leonard “Christy” Christensen.
