Every Saturday and Sunday when it's warm out (Apr-Oct) you'll find some of the BEST Mexican and Central American food trucks parked at the soccer field. My fav is the Country Boys' quesadillas.
grab a pupusa and some plantain chips at the salvadorean truck, but there may be a wait since families sometimes come and order 40 pupusas for the whole team at the ball fields.
At Red Hook Ball Fields you’ll come across a series of muy-autentico vibes in the form of a few food trucks – serving up the best Colombian, Salvardorian and Mexican cuisine in the area. Read more
Don't leave this place without getting the ceviche mixto or the fried fish at the tiny Ecuadorian Food car. It is one the best ceviches I've tried. It is like having one at the Pacific Coast.
Come and stuff your face with anything and everything from the various food carts. Grab a bench and watch some serious soccer matches. A perfect afternoon.
Note: Runs April-October. Arguably the most authentic experience in NYC. Bring a blanket - eat some food - walk it off at IKEA - take the ferry back to Manhattan/Upper BK.
Get tamales at Ochoa, chicharron from Ceron, tostada from Carrillo, pupusa from El Olomega, fish taco from Country Boys, chorizo taco from Piaztlan & hibiscus/pineapple juice combo from juice cart
Lots of Latin Food Trucks. Highlights Include Ceviche, Pupusas, Agua Frescas, Elote, Cemitas. Operates on Saturday and Sunday, May through October.
Huarache from Country Boys, juice drinks from Valqueiro and Pupusas from Solber and the roasted corn from the truck on the end. Can't go wrong either way.
Wait in line at Solber's Pupusas and get the Pupusa Platter for $10. 2 pupusas, cabbage, cream cheese, tomato sauce and a bonus sausage! Combine that with a watermelon juice and you're good to go!
For a diverse sampling of authentic Latin American food, check out the offerings from the Red Hook Food Vendors who have been dishing out pupusas, ceviches, and horchita here for more than 30 years.
Try the sopes. My fav food truck location. Authentic and amazing food
Get the horatcha (not horchata this is not a typo!) which is a huge taco the size of your face at the taco truck near the corner!
head over to the vendors and grab a tamale or pupusa, elote (corn with cotija and chili powder) and a watermelon drink. don't fill up here; there are most culinary stops on this tour.
Heard so many things about these vendors. A bit more expensive than I imagine considering the simplicity of the cuisine, but certainly filling and delicious. Skip the tacos, go for the Pupusa platters
Worth the wait, but conquer the long lines by having a different friend stand in line at each truck. Must get? Grilled corn with mayo, limeade and papusas from Solber Papusas.
Carne enchillada quesadilla at Country Boys is one of my favorite Mexican dishes in NYC. Wash it down with watermelon juice from the adjacent truck. Sucks the DOH have given them such a hard time.
Try the barbacoa taco from piaztlan, the loroco pupusa from solber and the ceviche from the Ecuadorean truck. All are delicious
open weekends during the summer, look for the trucks with the longest line. get some mexican corn before waiting in line at country boys.
Everyone is going to tell you to get Soler's pupusas. But trust me, get their savory (not sweet) chicken tamales. Those will rock your world. And drown it with a glass of their horchata. Read more
A ton of food options so go w/ a friend and share a couple plates. Try the watermelon sandia drink, beef tostadas, pupusas and then walk to Ikea and take the free water taxi home
Plazitan - that is the truck to go for authentic Mexican tacos.
Tacos and pupusas to eat in the park. A great Sunday afternoon.
Get huaraches from Burrito Brothers or Papusas from the Papusa Lady.
Go to the Carillo cart and order yourself a Guatemalan enchilada. Fried tortilla topped w/ pickled beets, cheese, slices of egg, sauce and ground beef(optional) Read more
If you have never had a huarache before then you have not lived. Get some tamarind juice to wash it down.
Go to the second Pupusa truck from the corner! "El Olomega". The bomb!
Order "elote," Mexican corn on the cob, with extra chili power and cheese. Squeeze on lime. Drink with watermelon juice and watch the kids play soccer. Perfect.
Very important: Public restrooms are behind the pool opposite the fields.
GO TO THE JUICE TENT & GET THE GRILLED CORN, MEXICAN STYLE. DO IT NOW
Comida Ecuatoriana, the best ceviche in NYC
A total hoax. Don't waste your time going there. Only a couple food-trucks with a very limited offer. They're basically tacos, and not even good ones.
Man...! You better be hungry! Horchata + elote + pupusas + huarache!
Worth the trip. The huaraches were BOMB!
The silver cart at the end of the street has the best Chilean empanadas on the block
Love the food!!
there's a great truck for ceviches
Bike to Red Hook Recreational Area and make sure to stop at the Red Hook Lobster Pound on the way for a tasty lobster roll!

Don't forget the Plaintain chips and Horchata!!
I wish there was more seating.
Ceviche cart at the end is underrated.
Order the spinach and cheese pupusa. It's worth the trip to Red Hook all by itself.
I am stuffed with corn, ceviche and papusas-love it
get the papusa - one with pork and one with jalapeno. the flower one isn't as good.
