Fascinating museum devoted to the life of EAP. Lots of items owned and used by Poe himself: desks, boyhood bed, hats, walking stick, even a lock of hair! Great live reading of "The Tell-tale Heart"!
Very friendly staff . All self guided tour with the option of an audio to go along while you walk through the different areas.
A wonderful tribute to "the Prince of American literature" as Victor Hugo called Poe. So many artifacts and so much to learn. Plus two black cats , Edgar and Pluto, roam the property.
Great place to look melancholy on a rainy afternoon (and to learn about Poe, see some killer artifacts , and get a feel for old-time Richmond). P.S. Did you know Poe originated the whodunit genre?
At least three ghosts are believed to reside or at least visit here, including two blonde children, thought to belong to the house’s original owners, and a shadowy figure thought to be Poe himself.
This is a great museum full of unique artifacts specific to Poe. A must visit for anyone who has even heard his name.
It was a really great memorial. And not too expensive either. Very quaint historic walk through.
Very quaint little gift shop...fitting for Poe, right down to the very friendly black cat (named Edgar, appropriately enough) that wanders around the whole time. :)
The garden is beautiful. Lots of items from Poe's life are on display.
Nice little snapshot of the poet. Worth stopping off.
What’s good here? Seriously? Everrryyythingggg! It’s absolutely Poesome!!!!
Well worth the visit, for the museum and the district. Be advised, no street parking in front.
Was cool but wish they had more of his actuall writings and more about the oldest house in Richmond.
Small, but interesting. Worth checking out if you're a Poe fan.
It really is a museum of things from people who knew Poe. It sort of adds to depressing memory of his life.
Called "America's Shakespeare," Edgar Allan Poe created or mastered the short story, detective fiction, science fiction, lyric poetry and the horror story.
TIMES-DISPATCH FACT: The museum claims to have the “world's finest collection of Poe's manuscripts, letters, first editions, memorabilia and personal belongings .”
Looking for a touch of the Gothic, check out the Poe Museum .

Richmond. Es esa época, Poe desarrolló el germen de lo que posteriormente se conocería como novela policíaca con la obra Los crímenes de la calle Morgue
Uno de los mejores escritores, me encantó conocer el lugar
