This is where Mother Nature puts on one of her finest shows: Luray Caverns. And while the caverns are indeed natural wonder, a national treasure, and the most popular caverns in Eastern America, walking through them feels more akin to an unearthly experience.
101 Cave Hill Rd Luray , VA 22835 United States
Amazing place to visit. Don't miss a chance to hear the organ play and hear stories about Pluto's ghost and the Princess column. And while you are there visit the vintage car exhibit next door.
Well worth the trip! Everything is great - the mirror pond is enchanting. Don't miss the drapery features. The tour takes about an hour and it's 1.25mi long.
We caught Luray Caverns on our road trip. It was a great stop with lots of photo ops and there's actually an organ wired up to tap different spots in the caverns to create music . Very cool.
Amazing and beautiful formations . Must see. Guided tours are part of the ticket fare and is very helpful to understand the history and beauty of the caves .
See the world growing beneath the Shenandoah Valley . The caverns come equipped with 10-story-high ceilings, imposing stone columns, and reflective pools. Read more
Very cool cavern tour . Takes about an hour with 1.25 mi walk.
Worth seeing this place! Absolutely unique. do not let them to take your photo before the entrance. They print it and make to buy at 30$ without pre-notice that u cannot even refuse them! Big shame
Gorgeous caves . No guided tours . Pay for the audio tour or go on a less busy weekday and ask for a guide.
Made our South's Best List! Hear the rocks sing in this subterranian concert hall . The Great Stalagpipe organ is the world's largest instrument, and it covers more than three acres. Read more
Gorgeous caverns. Highlights include the organ , Pluto's ghost , and the fried eggs :) ticket are a little pricy at $24 but the caverns are beautiful
Great place to visit, but if you bring children keep them under control. And stay in the back of the group if you have a stroller.
If you are on I-84 do yourself a favor and see Luray Cavern. It's an awesome experience.
Great tour guides! Amazing sites! For those with asthma issues, be sure to bring your inhaler; Minor mold spores may be a problem. Nothing too scary.
Almost the way I remembered it as a child. The mirrored lake is mesmerizing.
A place you should definitely see before you die! Amazing!
Amazing wonder of nature. We stop here every summer with the family on our way down south.
Very interesting, but crowds have to respect each other to get through tight places and give each person a chance to see and HEAR.
Unique 1.25 mile walk through a cavern. Kid friendly . Path is wide enough for strollers
This Shenandoah Valley wonder has cathedral-sized rooms and high ceilings . Explore caves and hear the organ make concert-quality music w/ massive stalactite formations . Read more
Very pretty, but avoid going on Memorial Day! It's very crowded ; 2 hour wait and 8,000 visitors according to tour guides.
Amazing natural beauty! Come on a weekday it's less crowded !
This is one of the best caverns on the east coast. Worth making a special trip.
Amazing caves surrounded by good ol' fashioned American tourist trap.
Make sure to bring some coins for kids to throw in the wishing well .
Don't wait in line w/the masses for souvenirs right after the tour . Walk down to the car museum , same stuff no waiting.
Definitely check out the Garden Maze next door. It's really fun for adults and kids and not so easy.
By tickets in advance or have someone stand in line while you are getting tickets
They offer a military discount so don't forget to ask for it!
So amazing!! Unbelievably wondrous. A MUST see!!
It's so beautiful and No one can Top this. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Marvelous! You have to see it once!
It's very interesting inside. But the group tours are poorly organized . Too many people per group and they are grouped too closely together. When rooms clear you have 2 sec to take pics b4 the next 1
Great tour . Surprisingly warm down there. Don't touch the formations !
At $24 per adult, I'd skip the caverns and get a 7-day pass to drive all over Shenandoah for $15, which covers everyone in the car.
Really beautiful! Take your time and get lots of pictures.
Tours are groups of ~25. If you want to be able to hear the stalactite organ , don't get in line with noisy babies/kids!
A must see if you're driving through Shenandoah park !
Well done tour , interesting sites.
Amazing Cavern and proof of How great Nature is.A very unusual place for a wedding Ceremony if you are considering one.
The formations are impressive. But the entry fee is slightly on the higher side
Dont bother taking pics w/o a tripod. If you want to bring your tripod, come before 11:30am--crowds are sparse even on the weekend.
The tour of the caverns was amazing!
Waaay too busy, try Skyline instead.
We lucked out and had a really small group. Much better experience than a large tour .
Listen to the kids version of the audio tour - it's really nice :-) and don't miss the stalachpipe organ
Try the bison jerky at the gift shop ! Tasty!
Show your Giant or Martin 's grocery card for 50% off one adult ticket.
They sell postcards in the Cavern shop but no stamps. Head down to the Car Museum shop.
Breathtaking
