The Florida Theatre

The Florida Theatre is a historical venue that opened to the public in 1927. It's one of the best places to go see a show or concert . It evokes memories of a bygone era. Great atmosphere!

I attended an event here last December (2014). Beautiful nostalgic venue with architectural details so intriguing that I found myself photographing the interior. Loved it! Very intimate setting ..

The historic stage was once home to vaudeville; today it hosts 200 performances annually that range from classical and pop to country and the blues , as well as ballet , opera and lectures.

The volunteers and staff here are the best. Make sure you show up early/on time for your show to prevent doing the seat shuffle and annoying those around you.

Prime seating is in the first four rows of the balcony , called the loge, which still holds the theatre 's original gold upholstered seats from 1927.

Seriously, one of the best places to see a concert . There are no bad seats , great acoustics , very intimate .

Really pretty venue for a concert but be careful w balcony seats ! If the artist goes out into the crowd you can't see anything!

Been here many times! Go with mezzanine seating if you can! Or balcony seating above it... sitting on the floor usually doesn't allow much of a view .

The Florida Theatre originally opened to the public in 1927 as Jacksonville’s 15th largest movie theatre . 1956 Elvis Presley played one if his first headlining concerts on an indoor stage here.

Lots of secret ladies room on second floor... Don't just get on the line . Look around there's more than one!

Margaret Cho is a definite never miss show and the theatre service and facility are super fantastic!!!
