Now that they've gotten rid of the self-checkout lanes, I prefer the Giant. My latest visit reminded me of why. I spent over 10 minutes waiting in the only open lane at 9:30 pm to buy 3 things.

Don't miss the wine cellar , with auto-entry, sliding doors here. Quite an unexpected production for a Safeway!

Good store, good bakery department. Get fresh bread in the mornings. Don't come here before a storm. They run out of everything, and they don't restock. Also, get your produce somewhere else.

The wings bar is good.

Where the heck are the baskets when you walk in? Drives me nuts .

Sushi lady was really sweet. The other employees, not so much.
