Georgia’s oldest operating indie and art house theater. Art Deco 1920’s vibe, but with mod gear/sound. Constant rotation of classics and new releases. One my fav spots in the city !
Everyone should definitely come and see the Rocky Horror Picture Show every friday night because Lips Down On Dixie is an amazing cast full of amazing people!!!
Get front row seats or corner ones ... The floor is not sloping n is almost flat so the person in front will surely block ur view of the screen ! But the theatre gives u an old school feel :)
New ownership drastically changing this once great historic landmark . Business model is strictly corporate; no more arcade , no Spookshow, art deco charm all gone. Not to mention the longtime staff .
Follow on Facebook to get latest announcement re films coming in. Schedule is not always listed far in advance, especially one-time showings.
I love when Plaza shows classics! I've watched 'Meet Me in St. Louis' a bazillion times, but seeing it on the big screen last night was like seeing it for the first time...nothing like it...
The Plaza Theatre is Atlanta's oldest continuously operating cinema ; it opened in 1939 as an art deco theatre and then was an X-rated adult cinema & live burlesque show in the '70s (until 1983).
One of the best theatres in the country . They support film and the local arts .
They don't make 'em like this anymore. A great blast from the past for nerds of many stripes - come early for the cartoons. And bring quarters for the retro arcade .
Spend some time checking out all of the wonderful old movie posters that adorn the walls inside the main entrance. Also, be sure to check out the great collection of old school arcade games .
Plaza opened its doors in 1939 & is the oldest continuously operated cinema in Atlanta. A non-profit Foundation was created to restore the theatre, promote independent film , & support the local arts . Read more
Beautiful theater. Deeply rooted in A Town history. AND the popcorn is salty and buttery throughout! ;)
One of Atlanta's few truly historic landmarks . You MUST go see the weekly Rocky Horror Shows where you can physically do the Time Warp with men in corsets and stilettos ...simply fun & amazing!
Movies are good, but you have to walk up stairs to get to one theater. The heating fans are loud and distract from the movie .
Love the Rocky Horror Picture Show and the Room.
LDOD is performing a Friday AND Saturday night showing of Rocky Horror this Halloween . Remember when you check on foursquare you get a free raffle ticket.
Actually, no, you CAN'T buy tickets early for Rocky Horror unless it's Halloween weekend. That's also the only weekend it sells out. Just get here by 11 any Friday night. you should have no problem.
Hippest theater in the city . They get a lot of stuff after Tara and MAC, but a lot of exclusives and the cult movie events are amazing!
Support a historic theatre and benefit the Plaza Theatre Foundation each time you buy a movie ticket or make a purchase.
See "The Room" the last tuesday of the month, or "Rocky Horror Picture Show " every friday! Both are excellent films that encourage participation!
Saw Evangelion 2.22 here and Trigun: Badlands Rumble here. This theatre is so cool. Definitely worth the 45 minute drive.
Very nice spot. Very ideal for premiering indie films .
Great place for Indie and Cult films . They still do Rocky Horror!
The Plaza Theatre shopping center was the first "mall " in Atlanta to have off-street parking .
Always watch The Rocky Horror Picture Show here on Fridays at 12 midnight.
They have a $5 popcorn and drink special on Thu.
Bring cash. The phone lines were down and the ATM ran out of money. But everything else rocks.
Yes love the Plaza !!
I haven't been here in over 10 years...very interesting...rather vintage
Don't believe them when they say u can't buy tix early & they never sold out for RHPS - they do & it does! Buy tix 4 RHPS early.
Cane sugar bottled sodas FTW
Thank them for the delicious popcorn . http://bit.ly/oSUjT6
One of the true remaining theaters in the city .
Go see The Room. The only theater in Atlanta that shows it monthly. It's fantastic.
Small theater, decent location
Machete don't text!!! Saw the new cult film "Machete" there and it was great!!!

Monthly showing of The Room. "You're tearing me apart !"
Good spot for independent/foreign movies. It is quirky and authentic and a bit dated but better than the mall theater. Great beer selection. Arrive early as concession/beer line gets long. - Josh Weiss
Totally enjoyed my first experience here. Being from Chicago to enjoy such a high end experience was beyond amazing. Atlantic Station has something for everyone. - Max 😎
Clean and comfortable seating, friendly staff, well lit abundant parking. It was a nice treat to be able to enjoy an adult beverage with my popcorn. - Xiomara Samudio
Hummus plate is to die for! Great spot for drinks after work, if you can handle the smoke. - Amber Schreiner
Breakfast all day. Amazing French toast, burgers, chili cheese fries, bottomless coffee. - Monica Zarate
Tons of history, awesome decor all over the walls, and COLD beer! - Stefan O.
