On a EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAR day w/o Sea Mist, it is possible to see parts of 4 of the major islands : Lana`i, Moloka`i + Haleakala & Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea.
Leave early so you won’t get locked in! Tunnel gates close at 6 PM. Hike takes about an hour.

Gorgeous place to stop and take in Hawaii.
Walk to towards the Diamond Head Lighthouse . You'll pass a small garden area along the wall that the local surfers created and maintain themselves.
Beautiful photo opp. Limited parking though (maybe 6 or 7 stalls).
Favorite place to run to from Waikiki.

Amazing snorkeling. We saw turtles, octopus, and thousands of fish. Even though the entrance is a little steep ($7) it is worth it. Bring your own snorkel - Chris O'Brien
