Opened in January of 2006, Knitty City is the realized dream of Pearl Chin, who designed it as a “ Yarn Studio”. It is devoted to beautiful materials for knitting and crochet, instructional classes and community connection.

Nice book and pattern selection (bins on bottom shelves) with staff able to explain tricky patterns. Yarns are sorted by fiber and brand, and knitting accessories are back-left of the counter.
Perfect for locals and out-of-towners.. friendly staff available to help and regulars knitting in the back.. Bring your knitting and pull up a chair. Lenny the dog may come by to say hello....
best place to buy yarn on the uws. if the place isn't packed they are super helpful. plus the free bags are fab.
