紀州徳川家と井伊家の御屋敷の境目付近が谷で、付近から清水が沸き出ていたこと から、付近は「清水谷」と呼ばれ、通行人や旅人立ち寄り、喜ばれていたという。現在は深緑の美しい公園 として整備されており、湧水の井戸 が復元されています。
江戸の頃湧水が湧き出ていたこと より「清水谷」の名がつきました。公園 で湧水を再現すること で往事の姿を再現しています。公園 内には「紀尾井坂の変」で暗殺された大久保利通哀悼の碑が建っています。
喫煙所がある。奥の階段を上がればビルの屋外喫煙所、イートイン付きのファミマもある。
大久保利通の慰霊碑が有ります。
カエデが大量生産にあるので、もう少しすると見頃になるであらう
