Absolutely amazing zoo !! Extremely large; difficult to cover in one day. Beautifully laid out; on par with Sea World or Animal Kingdom! Plus, you can bring in your own food/drinks and they sell beer !
The zoo is very clean and well kept. The exhibits are nicely done and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable . I have been to this zoo multiple times with my children and I know that I will be back.
When you arrive, make sure to check out the schedule of all of the programs and "keeper talks" they have going on that day. This will help plan your route through the zoo !
There are a lot of animals that are pretty active when its cold/cool out. We really enjoyed the wolves, flamingos, polar bears , wolverine and the indoor gorilla house!

This is a great zoo . Habitat enclosures are designed to give animals plenty of room, while maximizing your viewing opportunities. There're also a lot of interactive exhibits for kids.

There's so much to see there! The African section of the zoo is a must see. And wear comfortable shoes cause it's a huge place.
Clean , friendly , and a wide variety of exhibits . They had zookeepers talking about the animals in many instances! They also have (some) local beers . Would like more.
The lines at the food court for the healthier food are MUCH shorter and you will find open tables near the aquarium .
The 1/2 price Wednesdays for Franklin County residents (with valid ID) was a nice surprise. Parking was an additional $8. Not bad for a pleasant day at the zoo !

Zoo does have an array of animals from the east, including a few snakes from Turkey . Maybe it will inspire you to include a few of the slithering reptiles in your next performance !

Must check out Stingray Bay . Not easy to find, just through gate to the left towards Zoombezi Bay .

Love that this Zoo is only one of two in the country that can accommodate manatees in need of rehab. Currently there are six manatees at home here.
The cheetah show at 10:30 am us a MUST SEE! The tigers are super cool too!
Get your big souvenir cup at the cart just inside the entrance for $8 and get free refills that day. Buy it anywhere else, you'll pay the same 94 cents for refills that you pay the rest of the season.

Feeding and petting the animals is the best
Check out the Animal Encounters Village in Jungle Jack's Landing. Awesome staff there that will let you meet and touch many different kinds of animals. AWESOME for little kids.

Its best to visit during the weekday. All the animals are out and active! Is never busy either.
