Sushi Sasabune

One of the finest sushi restaurants I have been to. Comprehensive sake menu. The staff are strict about when soy sauce may be added or not but this is good advice you must take!

Though largely overshadowed by the popular omakase dinner , the lunch special (miso soup , salad , sushi bowl, three pieces of nigiri and a hand roll ) is worth the hassle of finding midday parking .

Has held its place as one of the best in the top echelon of sushi purist restaurants . Ask for Japanese style omakase which is the carte blanche order at this place.

The omakase menu includes classic nigiri pieces such as maguro and toro , in addition to butterfish , albacore and yellowtail . Prices are high to match the quality, upwards of $200 a person.

I love the place. Yes, it’s a bit expensive , but the quality and the taste of the sushi is amazing. Always getting the chef’s special .

Lunch special is $22 and incl. chirashi , some nigiri , crab roll , and soup/salad. They were quite elusive about it, so you likely won't find it on the menu. It wasn't offered to us, but we knew to ask.

Omakase // albacore white tune , pen shell, baby tuna , bluefin tuna (akami) , bluefin tuna (toro ), yellow tale and salmon ????????

Good food. Although there are a lot of 'better' options for sushi close by, IMO. But you can't beat Sasabune's lunch menu ! Great value .

New location is much more intimate . Toro was incredible; melted on my mouth. My only complaint is that the omakase always leaves me a little hungry.

The Raw scallops here are one of the best things I've tasted. Briny, creamy, delicious! Good service too.

Sit down, ask for their regular thing, and let it happen. They will bring you many courses of the best sushi you've ever had.

The monkfish liver (Ankimo ) is one of the freshest you'll get in LA. Buttery melt-in-your-mouth heaven!

No better sushi anyone. Ask to sit in front of Nobe and let him serve you the freshest selection ever. Listen when he says "no soy sauce " as there is a reason for that.

As good as sushi ever gets outside of Japan. The reason this place isn't a 9 is just because people expecting their California rolls . They don't do them - this place is genuine.

Sweet shrimp , jumbo clam ,eel , halibut ???????? kenmedai, monkfish liver .

That was great. Limited menu = super fresh fish . Lunch special was an awesome deal.

Do the omakase . The butterfish , toro , tuna and blue crab hand roll are all top notch.

Make a reservation for omakase at the bar . It'll be the best sushi in your life!
