Very nice backyard café with stylish architecture . The main exhibit was under construction when we were there, but they had a small projects room as well , with free admission .

As a "laboratory for communicating and advancing contemporary cultural developments in Germany", it launched one of Berlin's most significant artistic events , the Berlin Biennale , in 1996.

Check the program to join the Institute for the vernissage, then it's free and the crowd attending those events is always fun to watch.

highly recommend the Christoph Schlingensief exhibition (1.12.13 - 19.1.14). Become part of the installation on the groundfloor and feel completely immersed.

why is it that a place dedicated to "the production and presentation of contemporary art " forbids visitors to participate in art creation by taking photographs ?

Cool building, but their collection is pretty weak. Put this as low priority on your list of Berlin museums .

Неоднозначные впечатления. 1 выставка очень понравилась, в других залах какая-то муть. Если вы в Берлине всего на пару дней, лучше выбрать другую Галлерею современного искусства .

Довольно гениальная галерея с удивительно однозначными выставками — либо очень плохими, либо очень хорошими. Ставку делают на концептуализм, в моралофагство не скатываются — кураторы с юморком.

Место занятное. Не лучшее в Берлине, но и не проходное. Много входов-выходов. Чтобы ничего не пропустить, лучше спросить.
