One of the can’t-miss shops is Wild Detective, a coffee shop/book store/bar in an old house where coffee , community and creativity come together for the perfect mid-day pick-me-up.
The Wild Detectives satisfies both our gastronomy and literary cravings. There have been book readings inside, concerts outside and a great deal of wine and local beer split between the two.
The first time I visited WD was for a poetry reading -- and it stole my heart. Part bookstore , part study space , part coffee shop/bar, it's easily the coolest place in the Bishop Arts District.
Great coffee and drinks (beer , wine , cocktails ) in an old house , surrounded by an eclectic and small collection of records and books . Worth a visit.
I was hooked ever since they held the Dallas Zine Party here! The inside of the building is beautiful, and I love the smell of coffee and books together. An indie book lover's paradise!
Awesome place. Coffee , beer , wine , books . Tostas and pie and breakfast tacos . Backyard patio ????????
Classic espresso menu in an awesome old house . Grab a book and a cortado (and some Topo Chico) and enjoy an afternoon.
This is the quaintest place, just ask anyone who works here. But seriously, I love the concept. The books are a little high brow for me though, I'd prefer Sherlock Holmes with my pint.
Great vibe, love that they are open late nights . Grab a coffee , tea , or wine and get cozy .
Super cozy house made into a coffee shop . Parking may be a nightmare, but their coffee and alcohol selection is great.
Really cozy and good coffee shop . Could easily spend all day there.
Have a beer in the patio , do some work inside, or buy a book and get some coffee , this place is simply chill
Great place to work, chill , enjoy a beer , coffee or iced mint tea
A little red house full of good books , good beer , and comfortable nooks in which to enjoy both.
Great drinks, and their book selections are on point. Owners are awesome as well !
Always remember- there are no non-fiction romance novels ...
Drink wine , read books , listen to authors..heaven!!!
This is such a cool spot! It's chill and cool!
Don't block people's driveway. Just park around the corner.
Coffee 's fine. I'd recommend a draft. Good for quiet work, not for groups.
A beautiful bookstore . We've needed this for so long.
This is the kind of coffee shop that Louis C.K. makes fun of.
The turkey toast is amazing and $6.50
Good place for a glass of wine and a good book !
Amazing combination of my favorite things.
**new wifi password as of 6/20/14 is 314wilddetectives
Great place ! Its a shame service is not that good
Pour over , books , and vinyl .
Try veggie with pesto panini INSTEAD of chicken pesto panini because the chicken was very chewy and tasted like it is microwaved.
It's a cool place, but the beer is kind of expensive and you only get 1 hr of free wifi ...
Very clean bathrooms
All is perfect.
