La basilique Notre-Dame de Montréal, sise dans l'arrondissement de Ville-Marie à Montréal, est l'église-mère de Montréal. Véritable galerie d'art religieux, la richesse de ses ornements n'a pas d'équivalent à Montréal.
110, rue Notre-Dame Ouest (coin St-Sulpice) Montreal QC H2Y 1T2 Canada
Worth visiting for believers and atheists alike. Beautiful architecture & ambiance, I used to really enjoy coming here as a kid. This is the only place that comes to mind as a notable attraction here.
Have to pay for entrance all the time but the interiors are beautiful. Make sure to check out the adjacent chapels for contrasting architecture . Very low lighting but definitely a must see!
Join in with any on going guided tour if you want to know the historic facts. Beautifully architected- spend some time looking at the stain-glass paintings
Must have Canadian dollars to enter 8$ for adults and 5$ for children. Unless you are into gothic art or seriously religious about going in, I wouldn’t bother. The vieux village is worth exploring.
This cathedral is very pretty but not the more beautiful one I visited. Also, you have to pay 8 box to visit it. So it’s up to you. The best view is my pic.
It is one of the most popular attractions in the Old Town of Montreal. Little hint: On a smaller scale the outside of the Basilica is an exact replica of the well-known Basilique Notre-Dame in Paris.
If you happen to go there on Wednesday, check out ther organ concert at 2:30pm. Magnificent!! Reservation needed and 10$ cash including entrance to the church .
A church with a rich history in direct contact with the city of Montreal. Admirable to visit. "And there was light" activity to do, no excuse. A must in the Old Port of Montreal
The organ concerts are earth shattering! The stained glass is beautiful and the architecture inside so ornate. Love it!
Beautiful Gothic architecture . Check out the time when the free tour guide is available. You'll see more of its hidden beauty.
One of the most beautiful cathedrals that I’ve seen. Take the guide tour and prepare your camera !
The most beautiful neogotic Cathedral I've ever seen. You must pay $6 CAD to access and can take all pictures you want

Beautiful painted windows and very organ that you can see and hear. But the altar imposing and beautiful. It’s a must see. Prices for entering is 6 Can. Dollar.
Beautiful blue interior that makes you feel a bit like you are on the other side of the Atlantic.
Before the 11:00am and 17:00 masses on Sundays there is an organ audition (mini concert ) that lasts 30 min. The Basilica's organist, M. Pierre Grandmaison, is a must-hear attraction in Montreal.
There is an entrance fee to enter. It's a gorgeous church with beautiful woodwork and stained glass .
Just beautiful. You don't have to be religious to appreciate this wonderful building - definitely worth a look.
Beautiful blue interior. Breathtaking. Don't forget the chapel in the back with a wood finish and the light show in the evening.
$6 admission, but the organ concert was pretty. This church seems to be comfortable with it's tourist status.
Before you go in there is an entrance fee of $5 but you definitely need to go. The place is so solemn and nice. Light some candle and pray.
Nice interior design similar to the Notre Dame Paris. You have to pay 6$ for admission
Free Christmas Eve service. You can view straight from the top floor, where you can watch from the projector screens hung from opposite sides of the church nave.
Super nice staff , and it's super beautiful. Nice resting area both inside and outside.
Its very unusual, but in lower left of basilique altar , you may find Melchisedech offering wine and bread
So perfect. Try to to come during a concert , it’s worth it
This features stained glass windows showcasing scenes from the city ’s religious history and it’s filled with hundreds of detailed wooden carvings and statues and a pipe organ created in 1891
Beautiful architecture it's rally very similar to the one in Paris.
The beautiful Notre-Dame de Montréal. A must-see in the heart of Old Montréal.
Stunning inside - definitely worth a visit and learn about the history
Amazing a must stop in Old Montreal. Words cannot describe how beautiful this church is.
Perhaps the most beautiful altar I've ever seen, and I've traveled all over Europe.
Incredible !! Interesting history and awesome architecture
Currently being remodeled. Amazing vibe around. A must do in Montréal.
It's definitely a smaller version of "The" Notre Dame in Paris. Which is even more disappointing that it costs money to get in whereas the one in Paris is free, at least it was when I visited.
Unbelievable! A must when in Montreal. $5 entry free is well spent
Stunning Basilica right in the Old Town . The stained glass work is breathtaking.
38 CAD for the family to visit this church . Would probably have been worth a free visit.
A beautiful cathedral . Very worth seeing when visiting Montreal.
In the back there is a beautiful chapel with lots of wood work
Breathtaking altar . Don't miss the hidden chapel just behind the altar .
Bring $5 Canadian or even US to enter. Well worth it. There are multiple ATMs in the Square if needed.
Much more elaborate on the interior than you'd expect!
There is a $14 entrance fee. The cathedral tower is currently under remodeling / reconstruction so the gift shop is closed.
Amazing architecture , must see, interior is fascinating
You must pay at the entrance to pray or visit :))) so it is a church for the people who have money; if you do not have money then you can not pray. Isn't it weird?
So beautiful! book a tour so you can appreciate the history!
Early morning or Late day less crowded .
Regular visits run up untill 4:30pm. Further is the lights show which is interesting....along with the history of the church , you get to learn about the history of Montreal ;0)
A must-do if visiting Montreal. Take the 20 minute complimentary tour , it's definitely worth it!
