The Chamberlayne

A great venue. Excellent food with a focus on oysters and shellfish , but also good burgers and a great bavette & frites . Wine by the carafe and Abbot Ale on tap

They source all their meat locally and the menu is mouth-watering. This isn’t the place to be pinching fags off of strangers, bring a fresh packet and settle in for the long haul.

The coziest place to have a drink and chat with friends.

The pâté is excellent, the steak was lovely, the only thing missing from the menu is a decent sharing platter!

Great bar , great drinks and fantastic staff .

They are super strict about last call and they use measuring cups when they pour their cocktails . Ie, no chance of a heavy hand, as you would have at MOST other places. No wonder Londoners don't tip

Nice pub , heated terrace , lots of friendly people hanging around.

One of the few bars in London with Stella Artois Black. Worth a try, you'll notice the bigger flavour straight away.

More (bad) style than substance. Staff are pretty uninterested in customers. Full of people who wished they lived in Shoreditch. Crammed in if you're eating, and both food and booze are expensive .

Try new Stella Black for a more European pint which is matured for longer.

Go for the glorious sirloin . Has to be one of the best in London!

Don't know if it's changed hands but food was poor and although staff were apologetic, it was shambolic, sadly.

Found staff to be unfriendly & rude at closing time. Happy to take your money, and then turf you out before you've had a chance to drink it.

Steak & Kidney pie . Couldn't taste more English if it was made with Corgi meat. Storming.

Amazing chips . You have the chips .

the steak frite is a very good deal .

Not a gastropub for the faint-hearted...in a good way.

Stella black . Gone. Forever. Shame.....
