This place is fabulous, went midday during the week. It would only be better if they had a cafe . I do like all of the Iowa based products in their gift shop , and they have many educational items too.

Don't forget to stroll thru the Gardeners Show House , down a little hall on southwest corner of building for ideas for your own garden

I remember coming here in the early '90s and feeding the fish . Beautiful gardens and a convenient winter retreat.

Did you know? The Botanical Center's geodesic dome is 150 feet wide and 80 feet tall and constructed of 665 plexiglass panels. It houses nearly 1,000 species of plants!

Come in on Sundays in January and February from 1-3 pm to catch Botanical Blues . Tropical temperatures, beautiful flowers and foliage, good music , and refreshments.
