Disappointing that trains run only every half-hour at non-peak times but great that they travel direct to the Gold Coast. $18 Go Card fare quite hefty for the 20-minute ride to the city centre.
At time of writing, book through https://www.airtrain.com.au and the return journey on the AirTrain is free. Group booking discounts also available. Children under 14 travel for free with an adult
Use the train to get to or from the city much better than a taxi
Don't accidentally end up on the wrong train - the staff here are rude and unhelpful, especially if you're young. They check your go card a million times and grill you for no reason. Shocking service.
Don't worry about queuing for the ticket machine, it does take credit cards have to buy from Ticket window
Take a taxi , driver your own car , or walk. Much more effective.
