Entering here gave me the chills on how holy one can feel. If you can get the souvenir coins for $4, go for them. There's St. Michael, Mother Mary, St. Patrick, Mother Teresa, & Pope John Paul II.
I've visited this place for decades now. It's almost always under construction and doesn't compare to European churches , but is an awesome sight in downtown New York.

If you visit the cathedral the night before the City Sings concert , you get to sit in on the dress rehearsal open to the public. Plenty of seats.
The best altar here is the one dedicated to Mother Seton, the 1st American saint. She did it all - wife, mother, educator , founder of sisters of charity and a major NY socialite before her conversion
A beautiful landmark in the heart of Manhattan. Don't miss it, especially around Christmas time .
