The Melanesian artifacts were collected by Michael Rockefeller , who disappeared (probably killed) on an expedition to New Guinea in 1961. A brilliant little slice of this museum , often overlooked.
This collection is not to be missed.
Don’t miss the African art statues & sculptures .
Fabulous party at the Met tonight!
