This medium-sized zoo has great diversity and beautiful landscaping. Since I was a girl I loved visiting the red pandas and the very playful otters . The Chinese Alligators are also a rare sight.
Can't go without seeing Georgie! And don't forget to check out the new giraffe encounter. Memberships are the best deal.
Did you know? The Knoxville Zoo has been very successful at breeding red pandas , which are threatened in the wild. With 93 cubs born since 1978, it is the red panda capital of the Western hemisphere. Read more
I love the zoo but I love to see all animals an most of the time we go animals are not out or they are sleeping I heard that they have changed that does anyone know
Be sure to check and see when the animal encounters are for the day and go to them. The animals are more active at these especially if you go earlier in the morning!
You absolutely have to go see the new Tiger Forest Exhibit !
If it's raining come to the east Tennessee discovery center next door. We have free parking , kids hands on science and a planetarium show. We are opened Mon.-Fri.(9-5) and Sat.(10-5)
The new Tiger Forest and Asian Trek is MUST see
It would b awesome if was free all the time. St. Louis zoo always free!
We went in October 2015. Beautiful weather. Zoo was disappointing. Many displays were closed and the entire zoo looked overgrown or otherwise unkempt. We paid full price for less than half of a zoo .
It was awesome! Love the new giraffe exhibit !
The cheapest refills for the souvenir cup are near the river otters !
Received bad info that this zoo was not as good as Louisville or Cincinnati. Could not have been more wrong! Great zoo even with ongoing improvements. Will return!.
The pottys nearest the kids area are in the trailer toward the top of the hill , but boy are they small!
One of the best Zoos in the country !
We have a family pass and like to go for a few hours in the am. No crowds and the animals are out.
The animals are nice but it's not easy to push a wheelchair around there
Be sure to visit George, the baby chimpanzee, at Chimp Ridge. He's almost 2 years old and into everything. Soooo much fun to watch.
